I graduated Park University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts: Journalism, with a theatre minor. I started volunteering with KC Stage since its second issue in 1998 (my first article ended up in the July/August 1999 issue). I joined the staff in 2004, becoming the associate editor in 2007. In May 2010, I was chosen as a Fellow at the NEA Arts Journalism Institute in Theater and Musical Theater.
I have over fifteen years of experience volunteering with Kansas City area arts organizations, from on stage to back stage to board membership. I am currently in Los Angeles at the University of Southern California studying for my master's degree in Specialized Journalism: The Arts. I am currently an editorial intern at The Hollywood Reporter.
